Dear Diary,

Turns out the irritation in my left eye for the past 3-4 days has been from me having pink eye. Hopefully that will teach my mom a lesson in not taking my problems seriously and not going to a doctor right away. Hopefully I infected something she uses so she gets it too.

I wouldn’t have even known about it till sometime into next week if my dad hadn’t seen my eye when it started acting up again. Then he finally convinced my mom to take me to a walk-in clinic, since my mom had neglected to setup a doctors appointment.

We got there, waited for about 10 minutes, went through routine check-up, and waited for the doctor. Those details are unimportant since they’re pretty boring in comparison to the rest of this post.

Then the doctor came in, looked at my eye, asked a few questions, and looked to see if there was something in my eyelid which could be causing irritation, but of course there wasn’t.

Here comes the cool part, the doctor put some yellow dye in my eye so when he looked at it through a lighted window, he could see if there might be any scratches on my cornea. He applied it to the bottom of my eye, but when I blinked, my vision became disoreanted because one eye saw normally while the other eye through a yellow tint.

When he began to look at my eye through the windowed light thing, I saw a reflection of my eye, which looked pretty sweet, seeing my eye glowing all yellow and stuff.

So, that’s when he determined my cornea was not scratched, and that I indeed had pink eye. Then we (me, my mom, my sister) went off to walgreens purely for my subscription, but we also got some water and these nifty noise-reducing headphones since my previous pair busted.

When I got home, I discovered I wouldn’t have to do my chores until my pink eye clears up, so I’m accepting this disease to be more of a grace than a burden. Now I can finally sit back, relax, and work on mah internetz.
