Is Brett Favre an Attention Whore?

With all the media attention brought to Brett Favre these days, you would think he invented some uber “runs on pollution, outputs fresh air” vehicle. Unfortunately, this is very untrue, as he’s only going around pulling some drama crap. Frankly, I am not so sure his answers are as sincere as many Packer and Favre fans are hoping they are, I just think he’s looking for his 15 minutes of fame (even though this pathetic charade of mind-changing and emotion has been going on for about half a year now, not to mention Brett had been receiving enough as it was).

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, here’s a brief summery of Brett’s charade in lol speak

Brett - “Lol I has quit!”

    Fans & Media - “u srs?”

Brett - “yes i iz srs!”

    Fans - *emoshunz n stuf 4 4 munths*

Brett - “lol footbal bout to start? i wuz jk, i do want play futball”

Packers’ Owner - “lol u cant, haz legacies to protekt!”

Brett - “lol u srs? can haz trade? i want moar atenshuns..err, i want be head qwertyrback!”

Packers’ Owner - “fiiieeeen, stop bugging me tho, k?”

Of course, this has brought on a wave of media attention, especially from sports news networks, such as ESPN, ESPN2, and ESPN 8 — The ocho!…and Fox news since they never are able to find any real news to report on.

The wave of Brett Favre news is especially heavy where I live, considering I live in Wisconsin, home of the Packers. Honestly, I find the news upsetting in the sense that I keep hearing about it on every news station I try to watch. Is there really that bad of a drought of local news that the name “Brett Favre” has to be mention at least every five minutes to prevent an awkward silence?

I can only imagine that this discussion on the news is going to intensify now that Brett Favre has been traded away. Things like “what do Green Bay residents and fans think of the recent trade of Brett Favre to the New York Jets? Find out today at 5:00!”. They’re all sooooo upset, I get it. I don’t care.

Seriously people, all this Brett Favre drama is beggining to get old, if it hasn’t finished getting old already. For the previous years, I had to hear “omg Brett Favre might quit” as he began to teeter-totter on the decision of retiring.

Then, I had to hear about his ‘decision to retire’ for another 2-4 months after his actual announcement, from the super popular Fox News, from fans on facebook, or by Stumbleupon posts, despite me not having Sports within my interests. Now I must prepare myself for the next 2-4 months for MORE talk about the so adored quarterback now that he both decided to come out of retirement, and is now traded to the Jets.

Seriously Brett, stop whoring all the attentions.

Do YOU think Brett Favre is just pulling all this crap just for the attention? Vote in the poll below and/or leave a comment with your opinion!

Since I don’t follow sports at all, the whole Favre thing had me confused but the LOLspeak’s cleared it all up for me.

I concur completely, sir. Brett Favre is the LAST thing I want to hear about. I hate sports…and this is just another good reason for me to do so….enough is enough…
